PHOTOGRAPHY &
CINEMATOGRAPHY
Introduction
Photography and cinematography are dynamic disciplines that blend technical skills with creative expression to capture and communicate visual narratives. Photography involves capturing still images using cameras, focusing on composition, lighting, and subject matter to evoke emotions and convey messages effectively. From portraits to landscapes, photographers harness their artistic vision to freeze moments in time with clarity and impact.
Cinematography extends this art into motion pictures, where sequences of images are carefully orchestrated to tell stories through visual storytelling techniques. It encompasses camera movement, lighting setups, framing, and editing to create cohesive narratives that engage and immerse audiences in films, documentaries, and videos.
Both fields require a deep understanding of camera equipment, lighting principles, and the ability to translate ideas into compelling visual content. Whether pursuing careers in fine art, journalism, advertising, or filmmaking, students in photography and cinematography courses explore the technical foundations and creative processes essential for capturing the world through the lens.
